The second oldest house, Arenisca was founded in the 1700s by merchants and the upper-class (consisting of doctors, industrial capitalists, and other wealthy families). Established with the express purpose to balance Monodragon's influence and to modernize Sanoria, Arenisca maintained close association with the lower classes and were known to be slightly less exploitative of them. Recent scandals involving allegations of money laundering and attempted assasination have lead to many members of the house being exiled or executed, diminishing their numbers but hardening their supporters.
